Robert Siverd Obituary

Robert “Bob” M. Siverd, Sr. (“Pastor Bob”), 92, of Russellton, West Deer Township, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 23, 2026, at Harmony Hills Healthcare & Rehabilitation, Wexford, with his family by his side. He was born September 29, 1933 in Clymer, PA to the late Grant and Queen L. (Lydic) Siverd. Bob grew up in Oakmont, graduating from Oakmont High School in 1953. He served his country in the National Guard until 1955, then in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. Eventually, Bob and his wife, Lois, relocated to Indianola where they raised their family. Bob always knew of his calling to serve his Lord and Savior, and he became an Ordained Baptist Minister in 1975, serving the First Baptist Church in Springdale for over 27 years. While serving his church, he worked as a counselor for Teen Challenge for over 12 years. Bob also loved his other career as a school bus driver for Jaymar, which became Laidlaw and then First Student, driving for the Fox Chapel School District. He then went to work for W.L. Roenick Transportation and drove for Catholic Schools for a total career of 52 years. Bob enjoyed both drawing and painting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and especially enjoyed attending their sporting events. Bob was a member of Expressway Baptist Church which held a special place in his heart. Bob wanted everyone to know that he was at peace and was ready to “go home” because, to quote his favorite hymn, “It is well with my soul.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald (the late Blanche) Siverd, and his sisters Marion Montgomery and Joyce (the late James “Jim”) Coll. He is survived by his wife and “sweetheart” of 70 years Lois M. (Hunter) Siverd, his children Robert “Bob” (Sandy) Siverd, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Timothy “Tim” (Faith) Siverd of South Hills, VA, Stephen “Steve” (Amy) Siverd of Virgina Beach, VA and Patricia “Patty” (Doug) Francioni of West Deer, grandchildren Bobby, III (Brittany), Kaylee (Lee), Timmy, Joey (Kelsey), Emily (Mel), Logan, Douglas, AJ and Nick, his 9 great-grandchildren and his siblings June (the late Glen) Airhart of Plum, Patricia (the late Philip R. “Rock”) Palmer  of Oakmont, William (Joyce) Siverd of Chesapeake, VA and Richard (Nancy) Siverd of Chesapeake, VA.

The family would like to thank the entire team at Harmony Hill Healthcare & Rehabilitation for the exceptional care and compassion they gave to Bob during his final six months on earth.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10 am with his pastor and friend, the Rev.
